Mobile App: From offline to longitudinal research and more!
Need to collect data and conduct app-based psychology research via a mobile device? From running studies offline, to longitudinal research and more, the Labvanced Mobile App is here to help you meet your latest research goals with its app-based approach to conducting psychology research.
Accessing the Mobile App
The mobile / phone app can be downloaded right from the Google Playstore and is available for Android devices. In the next few months it will be available for iOS, so if you are interested in iOS, please let us know and we can notify you when it is ready.
Longitudinal Research with the Mobile / Phone App
While the mobile app can be used for single-session research, it is also ideal for longitudinal research where participants are required to take part in the experiment multiple times. When your participants begin your study, you can ask them to enable Push Notifications in order to receive reminders directly on their mobile device! The Labvanced Mobile App is ideal for running mobile app-based research and conducting psychology experiments through the phone (or tablet)!
Offline Capabilities of the Mobile App
The mobile app works offline so it doesn’t require an internet connection in order to work and collect data, making it great for remote studies or for conducting research in distant locations where there is not a stable internet connection. You can simply download the study locally to your device when you are online so as to have it available and then use it offline to record data. The app will sync and store the data when you are back online.

Participant Recruitment for App-based Research
For studies utilizing recruitment platforms you can also instruct participants to download it in order to participate in your experiment. For example, in Prolific when setting up the study, you can tick the box to indicate that an app should be installed then deep link the app such that opening the study will open in the app. If the app has not been installed, then the participants are automatically redirected to the Playstore. This process makes it not only easy for participants to access and use, but also for you to run app-based psychology research.
