Details for Integrating ChatGPT to Experiment Tasks
As you see in the video above, the impression of a ‘chat’ is given to the participant. For more information about how the above ChatGPT demo was set up, please refer to our technical walkthrough for integrating ChatGPT that explains the procedure step-by-step.
While the participant sees a chat and the response from ChatGPT, Labvanced is communicating via an OpenAI API. To create the impression of a chat, this is implemented simply by combining a Text Object (where the text is stored and sent to OpenAI) and an Input Object (where the participant types in their prompt). Together, these two elements essentially create the basis for the majority of ChatGPT research experiments, making it easy to adapt this feature for different research scenarios.

The Use for AI by Teachers and Lecturers for the Preparation of Learning Materials
For this research project, the goal was to understand how teachers and lecturers use AI to prepare learning and instructional materials. The main premise was the determine the speed, efficiency, and depth of teaching scenarios using AI and what one must be careful or mindful about when leveraging it as a tool.
The Use of AI for Ideation
For this study, researchers wanted to assess how AI can help to create new ideas, such as product names, logos, etc.
This study and the one above are still in the process of being finalized and published (we all know that takes time).
Impact of AI on Decision Making - Pharmaceutical
In this study, researchers presented pre-generated stimuli as created by AI and asked pharmacists to use them as guidance for decision making in a medicine verification task. This was combined with Labvanced’s peer-reviewed webcam eye tracking, in order to determine how attention and fixation shifted given the presentation of various AI-driven insights.
