Study-Specific App Tabs | Navigating Labvanced
When a specific, single study is opened and in an editing state, the side menu changes to have more options which are relevant for study creation:

Study-Specific Tab | Description |

Study Design | The Study Design tab is how you organize the overall structure of your experiment, like its sessions, groups, and task order. This part of the guide explains the principles of the Study Design tab. Concepts covered include: tasks, block, sessions, and groups and how implementing them in the Labvanced platform looks like. |
Task Editor | The Task Editor tab is where the actual design and creation of all tasks occurs in Labvanced. This part of the guide covers all the bases of everything that has to do with creating tasks in your online experiment. Topics covered include the trial system, objects / stimuli, variables, and events, as well as advanced topics like implementing eye tracking and multi-user features in a task. |
Study Settings | The Study Settings tab provides an extensive list and range of options and settings to ensure experimental control and how you want the study to behave. For example, you can utilize the Study Settings tab in Labvanced in order to specify certain requirements for their study, like which browsers are allowed, what screen size is permitted, what should happen in the event that the participant exits from a ‘full-screen’ mode of the study and more. Description | The Description tab allows you to set the public study title, keywords and more. All studies published in Labvanced has the possibility of being featured in the Public Experiment Library, if you choose to make it public and its design visible or accessible to others. This section of the guide explains how to best describe your study so that its informative when it is found publicly. |
Variables | The Variables tab provides a list of all custom variables created in the experiment and system variables available. This part of the guide introduces you to the Variables tab in the editor and describes what information is presented here with regards to the variables you have created in your online study. |
Media | The Media tab provides an overview of the files (videos, images, etc.) that are used in the study, as well as their availability status. Learn more. |
Translate | The Translate tab allows you to translate your study but also change static strings (fixed instructions or text, such as those in the eye tracking calibration) shown in Labvanced. Learn more. |
Run | The Run tab is where you can go to test or record a data session for your study. This tab is relevant for in-lab experiments who want to record a data session on-the-spot, but also for testing out an experiment before beginning official data collection, in order to ensure everything works as expected. Publish and Record | This tab contains a list of requirements that must be met and their status, in order to proceed to the publishing wizard for making a study live. Learn more. |
Sharing | The Sharing tab allows you to share your study with your colleagues / supervisors; available to group license holders. Learn more. |
Participants | The Participants tab is where you can go to manage your subjects by adding them, inviting them to your experiment, as well as communicate with them by editing the email templates that are sent out for each session. Learn more. |
Dataview & Export | The Dataview & Export tab alls you to inspect, manage, and export / download all recorded data, as well as control the format in which the data should be exported. Learn more. |
Open Main Menu | Returns you back to the main tabs. |
